Getting Started with Terrariums

What is Terrariums?

Terrariums is the primary Axie care, progression, and land reward system — a living sanctuary where axies work to earn rewards and train to reach their full potential. More is on the horizon, with grand expeditions, guild-based treasure hunts, and epic boss battles planned for future updates.

Every land plot you own is its own Terrarium, so your world scales as your collection grows. If you do not own land, the Free Plot is your gateway into the ecosystem, offering a similar experience with a streamlined set of benefits.

What You Need to Get Started

The full Terrariums experience uses two types of assets in your Ronin wallet:

• Land plots. Each plot is an NFT that you activate inside Terrariums.
• Axies. You assign axies to your active plots so they can work. 
  Each plot holds up to 30 axies, and the limit is the same for Land Plots and Free Plots.

You can buy land plots and axies on the App.axie Marketplace.

💡 No land plot? Use a Free Plot
You do not need to own land to enter Terrariums. If you do not have a land plot, you can play with a Free Plot instead.

A Free Plot lets you explore the game and set up your axies. It does not earn rewards at the moment. Land plots are the assets that earn bAXS. Support for axies to gain AXP (Axie Experience Points) for leveling up may be introduced in a later version.

How to Log-in

Go to terrariums.axieinfinity.com and choose how you want to connect:

• Continue with Ronin Wallet. The recommended option for most players.
• Continue with WalletConnect. Available under Other options.
• Continue with Other Wallets (e.g., Metamask). Available for each of your installed evm wallet extensions.

Approve the connection request in your wallet to enter the game. By connecting, you agree to the Terms of Service.

The Tutorial

The first time you enter Terrariums, a guided tutorial introduces the basics. Follow the prompts to learn how to activate a plot and assign your first axie.

If you missed or unintentionally skipped the tutorial, you can follow the quick guide below. The steps are direct and easy!

Activate Your Land Plots and Axies

Most of your setup happens in the Registry. Open it to reach two main areas: Plots and Axies.

Activate Land

This is where you bring land plots into play.

⚠️ Note: Activating a land plot locks it for earning. While it is active, you cannot list it for sale on App.axie.

1. Open the Registry and select Plots.
2. Click on Activate land and find the plot you want to use.
   
3. Once you selected the plot/s you want to activate, click on Activate selected plot and sign with your wallet to finalize.
   
4. A confirmation message will appear after activation is successful.
   

Set Plot Type as Default View

Owning a specific type of land plot has an additional perk. You can set your Terrarium's default view based on the active plot types that you own.

1. Open the Registry and select Plots.
2. Select the plot you wish to set as default view for your town.
3. Click on Set Default View from the options on the right to update the theme to your chosen plot.
   

Deactivate Land

Now if you wish to to take a plot out of play, follow the quick steps below.

1. Open the Registry and select Plots.
2. Select the plot you wish to unregister.
3. You will see options on the right. Select Deactivate.
   
4. If your plot is occupied by axies, you'll see the prompt below. Click Unregister & Deactivate, and sign with your wallet to complete.
   

Adding Axies

Add axies to an active plot so they can start training / working.

1. Open the Registry and select Axies.
2. Select an active plot.
   
3. Click Add Axies and choose the axies you want to assign, for a maximum of 30 per plot.
   
4. Once you've selected the axies, click on Add Axies to plot, and sign with your wallet to complete.
5. A confirmation message will appear after adding is successful.
   

💡 What Your Added Axies Do depend on where you place them.

• By default, axies added to Terrariums are put in the Dojo to train, where they earn AXP [Axie Experience Points] every tick.
• Axies assigned to the Atia Shrine produce Atia's Flame, which is used to earn bAXS rewards.

Unregister / Move Axies to a Different Plot

To move an axie to a different plot or unregister completely, follow the steps below.

1. Open the Registry and select Axies.
2. Select the active plot where the axie/s are.
   
3. Click on Move Axies and select the axies you wish to move / unregister.
   
   1. Move to a different plot
      (1) Select the plot where you wish to move the axie
      
      (2) Click on Move to plot and it will be moved instantly with a confirmation message.
      
   2. Unregister Axies
      (1) Clicking on Unregister Axies will prompt you a message of the axie's current earnings and contribution.
      
      (2) To continue with unregistering the axie, click on Unregister & Forfeit to sign with your wallet and complete.
