Axie Delegation allows an Axie owner to lend their Axie to another player (often called a "scholar") so they can use it in Axie games like Origins and Classic. The delegation could be easily managed through the new Delegation Center on App.Axie.
Delegation Center
Through the Delegation Center, you can view other’s delegation to you or manage your delegation to others. You can access the Delegation Center by clicking the dApps menu on the App.Axie website and clicking on the Delegation Center option.
Once you open the Delegation Center, you will find different tabs and labels with the details provided below:
Delegated to Others: This tab displays all Axies you have delegated to other users. It shows their status, delegation details, and gives you the option to revoke the delegation.
- Delegate Axies: A button that will direct you to an Axie selection page to start choosing multiple axies you wish to delegate to a another user.
- Delegatee: Shows the user who has been delegated the axie.
Delegated to Me: If other users have delegated Axies to you, this tab will list those Axies for your use.
- Axie Image and ID: Displays the specific Axie you have delegated/have been delegated with.
- This Week AXP: Shows any Axie Experience Points (AXP) accumulated for the current week.
- Earning Slips: Displays whether the delegatee is given the ability to earn slips with the delegated Collectible Axie.
- Delegator: Shows the user who delegated the axie, the axie’s owner.
- Started Date: The date when the delegation started.
- Expiration Date: The date when the delegation is set to expire.
- Revoke: A button that allows you to revoke delegation of an Axie by signing a transaction with your Ronin wallet.
How to Delegate Axies
You can initiate the delegation process from either your Inventory, Axie page, Marketplace or the Delegation Center, allowing flexibility for convenience in choosing the option you prefer. You’ll be able to delegate up to 20 axies per transaction to another user, but there will be no limit on the total number of axies you can delegate to an user. Below is a detailed guide on how to seamlessly delegate your axies:
Step 1: Choose Where to Delegate
- From the Inventory/Marketplace: Click on the ellipsis … for the axie that you would like to delegate, then click on the Delegate option.
- From the Axie Page: Navigate to your App.Axie inventory, select the Axie you'd like to delegate, and simply click the Delegate button. This will allow you to proceed with the delegation process for that specific Axie.
- From the Delegation Center: Visit the Delegation Center, click on Delegate Axies and select the Axies you want to delegate. Here, you can manage multiple Axies at once (maximum of 20 Axies per transaction), making it an ideal option for bulk delegations.
Once you have decided on which Axies to delegate, click on Continue to Delegate.
Step 2: Enter the Delegatee Address and Choose Delegation Duration
Get your delegatee’s wallet address and enter it in the textbox provided.
Take note that you cannot transfer Axies during delegation until revoked or expired.
You will also be prompted to select the duration of the delegation. The available options are:
- 1 day
- 7 days
- 1 month
- 3 months
- 1 year
Carefully choose a period that aligns with how long you want the delegatee to use your Axie.
Step 2.5 (Situational): Allow Fortune Slips Earning from Collectible Axies
If you are delegating a collectible axie, you will see a Delegate Permission toggle to allow delegatee to earn slips once axie is delegated.
Please take into consideration that you cannot change this option once the delegation has started, so make sure to enable it during the delegation process if you intend to share the fortune slips with the delegatee.
⚠ IMPORTANT NOTE: Once the delegation has started, the slips earning from the collectible axie will go on cooldown for 24 hours. This cooldown only happens if you allow your delegatee to earn slips.
Step 3: Grant Permission for Axie Delegation Contract
If it is your first time delegating some specific Axies in your selected set, you will be asked to grant contract permission for them by signing a transaction with your Ronin wallet before you are able to proceed with the delegation.
Depending on where you decided to do the delegation process, you should see a dialog box like below, click on the Grant permission button to proceed:
- Specific Axie Page > Delegate button
- Delegation Center > Continue to Delegate button
Step 4: Confirm the Delegation with Your Ronin Wallet
To complete the delegation after you have inputted the address, duration, and permission granted for Axie Delegation contract, click on Confirm. This will direct you to your Ronin wallet to sign the confirmation transaction.
Once done, you will see a prompt like below if your delegation transaction is successful:
Managing Delegated Axies
Managing delegated axies through the Delegation Center allows you to keep track of dates, availability for earning slips, and to revoke the delegation.
NOTE: Once you have delegated the Axie(s), you can only revoke the delegation after 24 hours. Make sure to keep this in mind if you plan to adjust your delegation frequently.
You will be able to filter axies assigned to a delegatee by adding their Ronin address or RNS on the search bar. You can use this feature to easily view and manage delegations to a specific user.
Delegated axies will be shown in both the delegator’s and delegatee’s inventory, with information regarding the delegator/delegatee and the delegation’s expiration date:
Delegators will see the delegatee, expiration date, and if Slips are included in the delegation.
Delegatees will see the delegator, expiration date, and if they’re getting Slips from the delegation.
If the slips are included in the delegation, there will be a checked slips icon on the delegation. If slips are not included, there will be a crossed slips icon.
Delegated Axie Capabilities
Once delegation is successful, delegators still hold key capabilities such as managing, ascending, evolving, and breeding axies, while the ability to play with the axies is passed to delegatee.
However, while a delegation is active, there’s limitations on what the owner can do with the axies, such as being unable to transfer or list it for sale. You may refer to the following for what the delegator and delegatee can do with a delegated axie:
How to Revoke Delegation
Step 1: Select the axies that you want to revoke the delegation for.
NOTE: You cannot revoke a delegation within the first 24 hours since it has been created.
-
Delegation Center - Under the Delegated to Others tab, select the axies by ticking the checkboxes for the axies you want to revoke the delegation for then click Revoke X Delegation/s.
You may revoke axies for different delegatees at the same time.
- Axie Page - Go to the axie details page for the axie that you want to revoke the delegation for and click on Revoke Delegation.
Step 2: Click on Confirm, then confirm the transaction with your Ronin wallet.
You’ll then get a confirmation message that the transaction has been submitted, and the delegation would be revoked once the transaction is confirmed on the blockchain.
Axie Delegation in Axie Products
Classic
When an Axie is delegated to a user, there are 2 possible scenarios:
-
Delegatee is an Intern/Member/Commander:
- Delegatee will only be able to use it for battle only (Create team/Queue).
- Delegatee won’t be able to put the delegated axies in guild support.
- When the delegation is revoked, but if the delegatee has played in the day, they can continue to use it until the end of day (same as old rule).
-
Delegatee is a Guild Leader:
- In the case where Guild Leader is delegated with axies, there will be a new delegation menu next to the register support button in-game.
- Guild Leader or Commander of the guild will be able to use this new menu to assign up to 3 axies to other members or themself, and this limit is separate from the guild vault limit.
- NOTE: If the Guild Leader wants to use the delegated axies to play, they would still need to assign the axies to themselves through the Delegation menu. They cannot use the delegated axies until they have assigned it to themselves.
- This means, guild members can have 3 assigned delegated axies from Guild Leader/Commander and 3 support axies from guild vault at the same time.
- Leader/Commander can revoke any axies from the in-game assignment immediately, but if a member has played in the day, they can continue to use it until the end of day (same as old rule).
- Same rule also applies to the assigned axies if the delegation were to be revoked from the delegator.
Origins
In Origins, both delegator and delegatee will be able to see the delegated axie in-game, but only the delegatee will be able to use the axie in matches.
On the delegator side, they can still see the axie in their inventory, but they wouldn't be able to use it in the arena. If the delegated axie is a collectible axie, the delegator still also have the option to use Meta Morph on the axie, and the morphed part will reflect on the delegatee's side. The delegated axie will show up as "Delegating" in the delegator's inventory:
On the delegatee side, they can see the axie in their inventory and use it in the arena. Delegated axies will be marked with a delegated icon on their Axie card:
-
General Mechanics (Inventory, Runes/Charms, In-game Rewards, Stamina)
- Delegated axies will show on both delegator and delegatee's list of axies -- BUT only delegatee will be able to play with those axies to which they will gain AXP normally.
- Runes and Charms must be equipped by the delegatee. When delegation is revoked, all runes and charms will be unequipped and returned to delegatee’s inventory.
- All in-game rewards will be earned completely by the delegatee. Reward sharing is not available in the current version of delegation in Origins.
- Delegated axies will contribute to your total Stamina just like owned axies.
-
Meta Morph
- Delegatee cannot morph delegated axies.
- After delegation, morphed axie will keep its morphed state.
- While delegating, owner can still morph the axie and the result will be reflected in delegatee’s account.
-
Collectible Rewards
- If a collectible axie is being delegated to the delegatee during the start of era snapshot then collectible runes and charms pack will be distributed to the delegatee's account.
- At the time of era start snapshot, if collectible axie is delegated to the delegatee and stays delegated for the whole era then the collectible chest will be distributed to the delegatee.
-
Juggling Rules
- Last 3 days of each era: If owner plays ranked games with an Axie then delegates -> counted as juggling
- Last 3 days of each era: If delegated Axie gets revoked then owner plays or delegates to another account -> count as juggling. (It won't count as juggling if owner revokes and does not do anything with the axie)
-
Update to Axie Cooldown Rule
- If an axie is played within a day before being gifted/delegated/revoked, it will be locked from playing Arcade/Gauntlet/Ranked/Roguelike Mode for 24 hours
- Axies utilized in the previous day or any time before that can be gifted/delegated/revoked without any cooldown period and players can immediately use them in all game modes. A day in Origins is defined from stamina reset time at 3 AM UTC to 3 AM UTC next day.
Homeland
Delegating an Axie instantly allows players to use the delegated Axie in Homeland.
- For non-land owners & stewards: The delegated Axie will be available for the delegatee to use in Homeland Avatar Mode.
-
For land owners & stewards: The delegated Axie can be used by the delegatee in the standard Homeland gameplay, where it can be assigned as a worker or used in Axie Adventure.
Note: Delegating an Axie does not reset its Axie Adventure fatigue.
Delegated axies will be marked with a delegated icon on their Axie card.
App.Axie Bounty Board
⚠ IMPORTANT NOTE: Only having delegated axies in your wallet will not let you do the Bounty Board. You will need to directly own 3 axies in your wallet.
Delegatee can complete all Bounty Board quests related to the game using delegated axies, but they cannot use the same axies to complete quests on the Premier Bounty Board that are related to owning specific axies as they do not technically own the Axie.
