Roguelike Mode is a PvE mode where instead of playing against other players, you’ll be playing against NPC monsters who are threatening the existence of axies.
By playing and clearing Roguelike levels, you’ll be rewarded with Roguelike tickets which can be exchanged for exclusive Base [non-seasonal] Rare runes and charms, along with cosmetics and various resources in the Shop.
How to Play
To access Roguelike mode, click Play on the homescreen and choose the Roguelike option.
You’ll then be presented with a screen where you can choose the level that you would like to play, as well as a preview of your axie team and the buffs and rewards that are available.
NOTE: Your current active team will be the team that will be used for Roguelike mode.
Only Level 1 will be unlocked at the start. You’ll be able to unlock other Levels by clearing all stages in the current level. At the moment, you can unlock up to Level 3.
Mechanics
In Roguelike mode, if you lose 1 match, you will end the whole run. Clearing all stages of the current level will unlock the next level.
There are other rules that applies to Roguelike mode as well, including:
- Your axies’ HP will be retained between stages. Axies with 0 HP will not appear in succeeding stages unless they are revived.
- You’re allowed to change the axie’s position or their runes and charms, but you cannot change your axies.
You can choose 1 random buff that can be applied to 1 axie after winning every stage.
At the start of each 4 stages, if you still have Stamina left, you’ll also use Stamina before starting the stage. If you used Stamina to play, you’ll get increased rewards for the current stage as well as the next 3 stages after that.
Buffs
To view the available buffs in Roguelike mode, click the Buffs Wiki button on the lower left of the page. This will show you all the buffs that you can choose from at the end of every stage.
After you clear a stage, you’ll be presented with 3 random buffs to choose from. You’ll also be asked to choose the axie to apply the buff to. Some of the buffs have certain drawbacks, so make sure to carefully read the description before confirming a selection.
Rewards
For each stage you clear, you will get various rewards of AXP, Honor Medals, and Roguelike Tickets, depending on the difficulty of the stage.
Roguelike Tickets can then be spent on the Origins Shop, under the Roguelike tab, for exclusive non-seasonal Rare runes and charms, as well as cosmetics, Gems, and even AXP boosters.
