Artifacts are part of a new mechanic in Axie Infinity Classic, these items allow you to change an Axie’s class for both offensive and defensive purposes during your battles.
Usage of Artifacts
- Choose one Artifact from your collection before entering a battle by clicking Equip on the Inventory page.
- The Artifact can be activated during the card casting phase.
- When you activate an Artifact, your opponent can see which Axie the artifact is used on and they will have a 10 seconds window to counter with their own artifact.
Each Artifact has 10 uses per battle or day. You can recharge once daily for 100 SLP to gain 10 additional uses. Premium Battle Pass holders enjoy an extra 10 uses on top of that! You’ll see your remaining number of uses though the Equip button or through the home screen.
Upgrading Artifacts
Artifacts can be upgraded up to 3 times (4 levels), each level extends the amount of turns that their effect will last.
- Level 1 converts an Axie’s class for 1 turn
- Level 2 converts an Axie’s class for 2 turns
- Level 3 converts an Axie’s class for 4 turns
- Level 4 converts an Axie’s class for 8 turns
For reference, the turn here means card interaction where the equipped axie either (1) attacks/uses a card, or (2) is attacked.
The cost to upgrade an artifact varies depending on the current level, this will require both Gold and additional copies of an artifact.
- Level 1 unlocks with the first copy
- Level 2 requires 11 total copies + 1,000 Gold
- Level 3 requires 31 total copies + 2,000 Gold
- Level 4 requires 71 total copies + 4,000 Gold
Once you’ve reached 71 copies, additional copies convert to 100 gold each instead.
How to Obtain Artifacts
Artifacts are able to be obtained from Battle Pass rewards, Chest drops, Golden Wheel, and Cursed Coliseum chests.
