Avatar Mode allows Lunacians to roam the land of Lunacia and interact with their fellow trainers using NFT Axies. In Avatar Mode, you can chill with other players in various villages all over the map, or schedule meetups with your closest friends over at your own land plot.
This guide will help you get set up to embark on your adventure in the world of Lunacia.
Getting Started with Avatar Mode
Avatar Mode is one of the two game modes in Axie Infinity: Homeland. To access, you will need to install Mavis Hub first then go to Library and install Homeland.
Requirements to Play
Before you proceed with the guide below, make sure that you have satisfied the following requirements to be able to play Avatar Mode:
Once you have satisfied these requirements, you can now log in to the game and start playing!
After you logged in, you will be directed to the server selection page. To access Avatar mode, click on Server Olek.
If you are playing on your land plot in the Homeland server, to switch to Avatar Mode, look for the following button and click it:
Setting Up Account
If it’s your first time playing Avatar Mode, you will be asked to set up your NFT axie avatar and username.
Step 1: Choose one of the NFT axies in your wallet to use as your avatar. Without an NFT axie, you cannot enter Avatar Mode on Homeland.
NOTE: You can change your axie avatar anytime in the game.
Step 2: Next, you’ll be asked to set up a nickname. Your nickname can include alphanumeric characters and will act as your identity.
NOTE: There’s currently no option to change your nickname, so choose it carefully.
That’s it. Once you’ve set up your axie & nickname, you can now start exploring the land of Lunacia!
Understanding the Avatar Mode Interface & Mechanics
Navigation
Start exploring Lunacia by navigating with your avatar around the overworld. To move your avatar, you can use any of the following keys:
- Arrow Keys [↑] [↓] [←] [→]
- [W] [A] [S] [D]
- Mouse pointer + Left click
Avatar Selections
The NFT Axie button allows you to return to the NFT axie avatar selection screen, where you can change your avatar.
Chat Interface
The Chat Box button opens the chat interface, where you can send chat messages to other players. You may also press [Enter] on your keyboard to start chatting. The chat interface has several options:

Muting/Reporting Other Players
Players have the option to mute other players by right-clicking their chat messages and selecting the Mute option. Once you mute a player, you won’t see their chat messages.
You can unmute the players you muted by going to the Muted Users settings.
For abusive messages, you can also choose to Report the user. Choose why you want to report the player from the options, then click Confirm. You’ll have the option to mute the user at the same time as well.
Interacting
To interact with NPCs and other utility objects, you will need to click on them with your mouse.
World View Navigation
To go to World View, you first need to find a Portal in the overworld and click on Exit.

To go to a specific location, click on the Enter coordinates button and enter the coordinates of the village/land plot that you would like to visit.
Choosing the Take a peek option will allow you to quickly see the location that you have entered. Choose Walk to to start automatically walking to the coordinates.
You may also choose shortcuts to villages and portals on the map shown on the Enter coordinates screen.
Land Plots
If you own a land plot or are playing as a steward, you will be able to easily check your Plot list to Take a peek or Walk to their location.
NOTE: Make sure that you are on the World View to be able to activate the peek or walk to buttons.
Entering a Land Plot
When you arrive at a land plot, you can enter the plot and see the progress of the plot. You can also arrange a meetup with your closest friends in a specific land plot.
Villages
There are currently 4 villages scattered across Lunacia where players can gather, namely:
- Goldenwind
- Evergreen
- Winterblue
- Hazymoon
Once you’re inside the village, you’ll be able to interact with other players in the village.
To exit the village and go back to the world map, go to the portal in the middle of the village and click Exit. You may also Activate the portal to go to a different portal or village instead.
Portal
On specific locations in Lunacia, you will be able to find Portals that are used to easily navigate the world by teleporting your avatar. To activate these portals, go near and either click on the Activate button or press [T].
After you Activate a portal, it will open up the portal screen where you can choose the portal to teleport to.
